## About the Role

* Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering or a related technical discipline;
 * At least 8 years of experience in a similar Systems Engineering role;
 * Experience within offshore, maritime or heavy steel construction environments;
 * Strong expertise in either mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or control systems, combined with a broad understanding of hydraulics and other technical disciplines;
 * Able to oversee the complete system while also working accurately on technical details;
 * Strong communication skills and comfortable working in multidisciplinary project teams;
 * Proactive, structured, practical and solution-oriented;
 * Willing to travel occasionally to client and offshore locations;
 * Excellent command of English; Dutch is preferred;
 * In possession of an EU passport or valid work permit for the Netherlands.

## Description

* Develop and engineer complete, safe and cost-effective system designs;
 * Define the overall system architecture, interfaces and technical requirements;
 * Coordinate and align mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control engineering disciplines;
 * Act as a technical sparring partner for engineers throughout all project phases;
 * Validate designs against applicable standards, customer requirements and functional performance criteria;
 * Identify technical and integration risks at an early stage and initiate corrective actions;
 * Prepare technical documentation, including system descriptions, interface documents and test plans;
 * Document and substantiate technical decisions;
 * Contribute to quality improvements, standards and knowledge development within the engineering department;
 * Occasionally support projects at customer sites or offshore locations.
