Desirable Skills * A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. * Experience contributing to backend development using C#, ASP.NET Core or .NET/.NET Core services. * Experience developing or extending APIs and working with relational databases, preferably SQL Server. * Experience with Azure App Services, Functions and Storage. * Familiarity with Azure DevOps or GitHub and CI/CD pipelines. * Experience with jQuery or modernising legacy frontend applications. * Knowledge of microservices and secure software development. * Experience developing AI-enabled products or applications involving complex, data-driven workflows. * Experience within medical devices, healthcare, life sciences or another regulated industry. ## Description To develop and maintain ARC's digital platforms, with a primary focus on building intuitive, accessible and high-performing user interfaces. Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, the Frontend Developer will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Software Engineers, AI Engineers and Test Engineers to translate user needs and designs into reliable software. While the role will focus on frontend development, the successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to backend development when needed. As ARC introduces its Vue, .NET, SQL Server and Azure technology stack, we are working towards broader full-stack capability across the team. This role offers the opportunity to build on strong frontend experience and develop skills across backend services, APIs, databases and cloud technologies., * Build and maintain responsive web applications using Vue.js, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS. * Translate UI/UX designs, Figma prototypes and wireframes into accessible, production-ready interfaces. * Develop reusable UI components and support consistent design patterns across ARC's digital platforms. * Integrate frontend applications with backend services and APIs, including state management, authentication, input validation and error handling. * Create clear loading, empty and error states to support an intuitive user experience. * Improve application performance, responsiveness, accessibility and browser compatibility. * Support the migration of existing applications to ARC's new technology stack and maintainable development approaches. * Contribute to backend development when required, including C# and .NET services, APIs, SQL Server databases and Azure services, building capability in these areas over time. * Troubleshoot software issues, participate in code reviews and maintain appropriate automated tests, working with Test Engineers to resolve defects. * Follow agreed coding, security and documentation standards. * Collaborate with colleagues to clarify requirements, estimate work and deliver features within an Agile environment. * Manage assigned development activities, communicate progress and raise risks, dependencies or potential delays early, proposing practical solutions where needed. * Share knowledge and actively develop skills to support the team's transition towards broader full-stack development., At ARC, technology sits alongside specialist clinical, regulatory and laboratory expertise.
