The ideal candidate will have strong experience in low-voltage infrastructure design, telecommunications systems, structured cabling, and IT construction project delivery. This role focuses on design, engineering specifications, technical reviews, and contractor/vendor oversight rather than hands-on installation. RCDD certification is not mandatory; however, relevant RCDD-level design experience and Knowledge of the TIA-942 data center infrastructure is highly desirable. Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Design and Engineering * Review architectural, electrical, and low-voltage drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and applicable codes. * Develop low-voltage design specifications, construction documents, installation standards, and technical guidelines. * Plan and design structured cabling infrastructure, including fibre optic and copper cabling, pathways, cable trays, containment, and network room layouts. * Define rack layouts, equipment placement, service wall configurations, grounding, bonding, labelling, and fire-stopping requirements. * Collaborate with Facilities, Network Engineering, AV, Security, and other technical teams to establish infrastructure requirements. Construction and Project Delivery * Coordinate with general contractors, low-voltage subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project execution aligns with approved designs and specifications. * Prepare Statements of Work (SOWs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), and Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates. * Review technical submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, and contractor proposals. * Conduct regular site visits, review installation progress, document deficiencies, and coordinate corrective actions. * Manage project punch lists, acceptance testing, and quality inspections before final sign-off. Testing, Documentation and Handover * Review fibre and copper cabling certification results to verify compliance with project specifications. * Maintain as-built drawings, testing reports, labelling schedules, warranty documentation, and project closeout records. * Ensure infrastructure inventory and documentation are updated in NetBox/Nautobot and CMDB platforms, where applicable. * Coordinate formal handovers with operations teams and ensure all infrastructure is properly documented and supportable. Capacity Planning and Lifecycle Management * Monitor network room capacity, including rack space, fibre availability, port capacity, power distribution, and PDU outlets. * Identify infrastructure capacity constraints and recommend solutions to support future growth. * Support infrastructure refresh projects, network room upgrades, and power shutdown planning.
