## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.

Work Experience:

 * 3 or more years of experience of DBMS administration with SQL Server, PostgreSQL including database implementation, tuning, troubleshooting and maintenance.
 * 3 or more years of experience in operating systems such as UNIX, Linux or Windows.
 * Shell scripting experience.
 * Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
 * Teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

 * PostgreSQL experience
 * PL/SQL development background

## Description

* Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.
 * Experience with Azure Cloud, Azure Devops, CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
 * Apply AI in day-to-day activities including agentic development and responsible use of AI across development, testing, documentation and operations.
 * Promote developer autonomy and application-team ownership by establishing guardrails for security, compliance, availability, performance, resiliency, data protection, and cost management.
 * Automates provisioning, configuration, maintenance, validation, monitoring, and remediation to improve consistency, delivery speed, and operational efficiency.
 * Monitors database health, capacity, performance, availability, storage, security, patching, and compliance; takes proactive action to reduce risk and service disruption.
 * Collaborates across database, platform, cybersecurity, governance, and application teams to resolve incidents, eliminate recurring issues, and improve business and developer outcomes.
 * Evaluates emerging database, cloud, automation, and artificial intelligence technologies; participates in peer reviews, on-call support, incident response, and root-cause analysis; and performs other duties with increasing independence.
