What we're looking for You'll take pride in producing tidy, reliable installations and understand that how you work with customers matters just as much as the finished result. We can provide training in our wider network, Wi-Fi, CCTV and VoIP solutions, so you don't need to be an expert in every service we offer. However, you must bring practical commercial cabling experience, a positive attitude and the ability to deliver professional work from day one. ## Description We're looking for an experienced Structured Cabling & Network Installation Engineer who already has hands-on experience installing data cabling within commercial buildings. You'll be involved in installing Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6A cabling, containment, network cabinets and associated equipment, alongside projects involving fibre, Wi-Fi, CCTV and VoIP systems. This is a customer-facing role. You'll represent Switch Networks on site, communicate clearly with customers and work considerately around their staff and day-to-day operations. A neat installation, a professional manner and a tidy handover are all essential parts of the job. No two days are the same. You'll need to enjoy practical work, take ownership of your tasks and be comfortable travelling and staying away from home when projects require it. Responsibilities * Install, terminate, label and test structured data cabling within commercial premises. * Install cable containment, including tray, basket, trunking and conduit. * Install and dress network cabinets, patch panels and associated equipment. * Identify and resolve cabling faults, recording test results and completing installation documentation. * Install and assist with the configuration of wireless access points, CCTV and VoIP equipment. * Work from drawings and agreed project scopes, raising questions or changes with the team before proceeding. * Keep customers informed about progress and coordinate work to minimise disruption. * Follow safe working practices and maintain a clean, organised working area. * Work independently and alongside colleagues to complete projects to a high standard.
