Responsible for installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of routers, layer 2/3 switches, 802.11 and other network infrastructure equipment as assigned. Requires technical knowledge in performing analysis of software, hardware, and transmission facilities using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient network operations. Participate in a weekly 24/7 on call rotation to troubleshoot and repair and restore network connectivity to customers as needed. IT Professional - Infrastructure will be required to perform medium networking skills with minimal supervision and in accordance with published standards. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected., Serves as a primary technical professional by overseeing a variety of analytical and technical assignments that are moderate to complex within the Houston Metropolitan area, with responsibilities of maintaining routers, switches, data centers networking, wireless infrastructure along with other network infrastructure equipment. Responsible for assigned network technology and infrastructure systems which includes planning, managing, implementing, installing, and documenting network infrastructure projects and upgrades. The position requires familiarity with: Cisco Routing and Switching Platforms (Catalyst, Nexus, ASR, ISR 1800/1100, etc.) SDWAN DMVPN Wi-Fi technology EIGRP/BGP NX-OS/IOS XE Meraki WORKING CONDITIONS The position routinely requires lifting of moderately heavy items, such as routers, switches, or records boxes (up to 40 pounds) and/or stooping, bending, very long periods of walking on rough surfaces on a routine basis and extensive use of a video display terminal. There may be sources of discomfort, i.e., outdoor installations, hot/cold temperature, and humid/wet conditions, essentially normal office environment. May occasionally require work in outdoor environment.
