Essential

 * Proven experience implementing data governance solutions in enterprise environments.

 * Strong AWS expertise and experience building cloud-based data solutions.

 * Experience with metadata management, data quality and data lineage tooling.

 * Solid understanding of data engineering principles and modern data platforms.

 * Experience developing automated governance processes and controls.

 * Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.

 * Ability to translate governance requirements into practical technical solutions.

Desirable

 * Experience within a regulated industry such as utilities, energy or financial services.

 * Exposure to AI and machine-learning data requirements.

 * Understanding of data products and data mesh principles.

 * Knowledge of data management frameworks and best practices.

## Description

Data Governance Engineer (6 Month FTC), As a Data Governance Engineer, you will:

 * Design and implement automated data governance solutions within AWS.

 * Develop and enhance metadata management, data lineage and data quality capabilities.

 * Build governance controls and frameworks that improve trust, transparency and compliance across data assets.

 * Support the creation of robust, AI-ready data foundations.

 * Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, BI teams and business stakeholders to embed governance best practice.

 * Improve data discoverability, usability and publication readiness across the organisation.

 * Contribute to a strategic programme focused on modernising data management capabilities.
