## About the Role

* Strong experience across the full software development lifecycle
 * Considerable experience in at least one high-level programming language (Ada95 desirable)
 * UML (essential) and structured design methodology experience
 * Understanding of software lifecycle models (e.g., Waterfall and Agile)
 * Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., ISO/IEC/IEEE 12207)
 * Solid understanding of configuration management and use of CM tools
 * Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, guide and mentor others
 * Degree in Computer Science / Engineering (or similar numerate discipline); CEng or working towards is beneficial

## Description

* Providing technical expertise across requirements, design, implementation, test and verification
 * Deriving and maintaining software requirements from system requirements/baselines
 * Producing and maintaining software designs using high-level methodologies (UML essential)
 * Leading/participating in peer reviews, technical reviews, verification and approval of designs
 * Supporting the replacement of obsolete hardware/software to maintain and enhance radar capability
 * Acting as a technical lead at sub-system level across multiple projects and products
 * Maintaining software to address defects and implement new functionality
 * Supporting estimates and contributing to team development/mentoring
