## About the Role

We're looking for a passionate and technically capable engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and developing high-quality embedded software solutions.

You will have:

 * Strong commercial experience developing embedded software in C
 * Experience developing software for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers
 * Knowledge of Embedded Linux environments
 * Experience with Yocto build systems
 * Experience working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, ThreadX, or Segger emBOS
 * Experience using Git and GitFlow version control methodologies
 * Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and embedded security techniques
 * Experience working within Agile and/or stage-gated development environments
 * Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
 * The ability to break down technical tasks and contribute to project planning and estimation
 * Excellent communication and teamwork skills
 * Experience working closely with electronics engineers on embedded products, * BEng degree or higher in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
 * Minimum 5 years' experience developing embedded systems within a commercial engineering environment
 * Experience delivering embedded products through the full software development lifecycle, * Do you have a minimum of 5 years' commercial experience developing embedded software in C for embedded systems?
 * Do you have experience developing software for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, ThreadX, or Segger emBOS?
 * Have you worked with Embedded Linux environments, Yocto build systems, and Git/GitFlow version control methodologies?
 * Do you hold a BEng (or higher) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a related discipline and have experience delivering products through the full embedded software development lifecycle?
 * Are you happy working in a Hybrid structure/ office based in Mansfield?

## Description

Working independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software solutions for a range of industry-leading products. You'll work closely with hardware, software, and product development teams to create robust and reliable embedded systems., * Designing and developing embedded software from requirements through to production release

 * Writing high-quality Embedded C code for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers
 * Developing both low-level firmware and application-level software
 * Translating market and customer requirements into technical product specifications
 * Reviewing software designs and code to ensure quality and maintainability
 * Collaborating with electronics engineers on embedded hardware integration
 * Working closely with PC software teams to ensure seamless system integration
 * Testing, debugging, and optimising software performance and reliability
 * Supporting product verification and validation activities
 * Creating and maintaining technical documentation, specifications, and test plans
 * Using version control systems and development best practices to manage software releases
 * Supporting customer visits, product evaluations, and technical training activities when required
