## About the Role

* One of the following: a bachelors degree in an ICT-related subject, Cisco certification (preferably CCNP), or demonstrable equivalent networking skills or experience.
 * Experience designing, installing, configuring and managing on-premises network infrastructure, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching and routing.
 * Experience managing network security hardware and software, including firewalls and network intrusion detection systems.
 * Experience with network hardware and software, including Cisco and Meraki solutions.
 * In-depth understanding of data centre network architectures, ICT disaster recovery strategies, and LAN, WLAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, MPLS and SD-Access networking technologies.
 * A full driving licence is essential.
 * Applicants must be willing to undergo MVSC vetting and a comprehensive background check.

## Description

* Implement network security, including firewall configurations, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and access control lists.
 * Maintain our network architecture, including Cisco routers and switches and Cisco ASA and Firepower firewalls, and troubleshoot issues.
 * Manage Meraki firewalls and SD-WAN appliances.
 * Assist with maintaining Cisco AnyConnect VPN, NAM and ISE.
 * Assist with implementing and maintaining a Cisco ACI network.
 * Manage the performance of major routing protocols, including EIGRP and OSPF.
 * Conduct network capacity planning and support upgrades and improvements across LAN, WLAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, MPLS, SD-Access and our data centre.
 * Support the development, implementation and maintenance of our network infrastructure, providing the technical resources needed to support business continuity for a 24/7 emergency policing service and its external partners.
