## Description

We are seeking a Tier 2 Level 1 Systems Administrator to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD. This role is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing server infrastructure, operating systems, and key software applications within a secure enterprise environment.

The successful candidate will handle escalated technical issues, perform patch management and system configurations, uphold strict security controls, and collaborate on cross-functional IT projects., System Administration & Maintenance

 * Monitor, manage, and maintain enterprise servers, operating systems, and core business applications.
 * Apply patches, updates, and configuration changes in compliance with change management policies.
 * Perform routine system health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning., * Provide advanced technical support for issues escalated from help desk/Tier 1 teams.
 * Diagnose and resolve complex system, application, and network-related problems.
 * Assist with user account management, permissions, and access controls.

Implementation & Configuration

 * Install, configure, and deploy new systems, hardware, applications, and tools.
 * Assist in system upgrades, migrations, and software integrations.
 * Document system configurations, procedures, and operational standards.

Security & Compliance

 * Ensure all systems adhere to organizational security policies and federal guidelines.
 * Implement and monitor security controls, including antivirus, endpoint protection, firewalls, and access management.
 * Participate in audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability remediation tasks.

Monitoring & Reporting

 * Use enterprise monitoring tools to track system performance, availability, and capacity.
 * Respond to alerts, incidents, and outages, performing root cause analysis and corrective actions.
 * Prepare routine reports on system health, incidents, and infrastructure improvements for management.
