Role Summary The Software Engineer II is an early- to mid-career contributor who independently delivers features and integrations within an assigned area.
They develop and maintain web applications, services, and integrations across the team's platforms, write tested and maintainable code, and support the reliability of student- and staff-facing systems.
They work within established team architecture and patterns, collaborate in Agile teams, and grow their expertise through knowledge-sharing and mentoring from senior engineers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities * Develop and maintain web applications and services using Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, TypeScript, Angular, REST, XML, and HTTP, following the team's established patterns and standards. * Independently deliver features and integrations on time and to quality when given design guidance; write clean, maintainable code and effective unit and integration tests. * Design features and components within the team's existing architecture; participate actively in design and code reviews. * Build and support integrations between third-party products and existing infrastructure (e.g., ServiceNow, Salesforce, Nuxeo/Hyland DAM). * Contribute to performance tuning and reliability of high-utilization, 24x7 systems; participate in the on-call rotation and resolve incidents in the team's services. * Diagnose and resolve defects in existing and complex systems without introducing regressions; address technical debt within their area. * Work within
