Both projects are actively underway and are critical to enhancing the customer experience across WMATA's digital channels. The Web Modernization Project involves the complete redevelopment of the front-end experience for wmata comand smartrip.wmata.com, replacing the existing platform that was last significantly refreshed in 2016. While a separate vendor is responsible for the website front-end implementation, WMATA requires resources to develop, integrate, test, and deploy the supporting SmarTrip backend services and APIs necessary to enable the new website functionality. The modernized platform will continue to serve as WMATA's primary digital channel fortransit information, customer self-service capabilities, and SmarTrip account managementThe SmarTrip Mobile App 2.0 Project focuses on enhancing the existing iOS and Android SmarTrip Mobile application by introducing new features and improvements designed to provide a more personalized, intuitive, anduser-friendly customer experience.
