## About the Role

+ Have 5 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree or it's equivalent work experience

 + Demonstrate experience administering UNIX-based operating systems

 + Demonstrate experience working with fault detection, troubleshooting, trouble ticketing, escalation, and other related operational concepts and processes

 + Be able to understand and write SQL queries and show understanding of the following protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, and HTTP

 + Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high level of attention to detail, excellent timeliness and dependability

 + Have an active Secret security clearance

 + Demonstrate the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of issues through resolution

As a Platform Operations Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

 + Monitoring, troubleshooting, and correcting emerging platform problems through an alert driven workflow, emails, and phone calls

 + Collaborating with Engineers, System Architects, Infrastructure Vendors, and Customers to isolate problems, achieve resolution, and improve the operational stability of the platform

 + Updating and patching system software components and configurations

 + Documenting work performed in the trouble ticketing system for communication and review/learning purposes clearly and effectively

 + Developing and maintaining documentation, procedures and tools
