## About the Role

Our client seeks a Senior DBA to support database operations and design improvements for a portfolio of online and batch applications serving both commercial and government clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

 * 7+ years of experience as a DBA, with expertise in Oracle and SQL Server
 * Strong understanding of relational database concepts and SQL
 * Experience with database performance tuning and optimization
 * Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance requirements
 * Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
 * Strong communication and collaboration abilities
 * Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills:

 * Experience with cloud-based database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)
 * Knowledge of database migration strategies
 * Experience with database replication and high-availability solutions
 * Familiarity with database automation tools (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell)

This is a remote position with flexible hours. Travel may be required for client meetings and on-site support as needed.

## Description

* Design, implement, and maintain database solutions for high-availability, high-performance applications
 * Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and resource allocation
 * Ensure data integrity and security through implementation of backup/recovery strategies and access controls
 * Collaborate with developers and application teams to design database schema and resolve complex technical issues
 * Manage database growth and capacity planning
 * Implement and maintain database monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues
 * Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DBAs
 * Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices
