## About the Role

* Technical proficiency in computer networking, information technology (IT), network installation, cabling, and equipment troubleshooting is essential.
 * Service technician experience and data center experience are valuable; related field service or telecommunications experience is also relevant.
 * Familiarity with diagnostic tools, telecommunications testing equipment, fiber optic installation, and equipment repair is preferred.
 * Ability to work safely with low-voltage systems, electrical testing equipment, and hand and power tools.

## Description

* Install and maintain structured cabling, network wiring, Cat5 and Cat6 cabling, and fiber optic systems; perform cable termination and fiber splicing.
 * Configure and support Ethernet connections, local area networks (LAN), Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, and voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and telephony systems, including Avaya.
 * Troubleshoot and repair computer hardware, telecommunications systems, and low-voltage wiring; use hand and power tools, ohmmeters, and telecommunications testing equipment.
 * Read schematics and test AC/DC electrical systems and radio frequency (RF) connections; follow applicable National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
 * Provide field service and customer service, install communication systems, and support closed-circuit television (CCTV) equipment.
