## About the Role

* Strong proficiency in Java (8+) and Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC)
 * Experience with Apache Kafka for building streaming and event-driven systems
 * Hands-on experience with Cassandra or other NoSQL databases
 * Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs
 * Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub workflows
 * Familiarity with container orchestration using Kubernetes

 * Experience with Apache Spark for real-time data processing
 * Knowledge of performance services and tuning distributed systems
 * Experience with additional NoSQL databases

## Description

Walmart's Catalog organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Java backend development to help build and scale critical services for our e-commerce platform. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining highly available, scalable microservices that power Walmart's vast product catalog and associated services.

What You'll Do:

 * Design and implement backend services and APIs using Java, Spring, and Kafka
 * Build and maintain distributed, event-driven systems supporting millions of daily transactions
 * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and ensure alignment with business goals
 * Develop and optimize data pipelines and streaming services using Kafka and potentially Spark
 * Ensure code quality through rigorous testing, CI/CD processes, and code reviews
 * Participate in performance tuning and troubleshooting of distributed systems
 * Work with Kubernetes and GitHub for deployment automation and source control management
