This senior individual contributor defines and maintains the system's standards, component architecture, design tokens, governance, and documentation so it remains consistent, scalable, accessible, developer usable, and understandable by approved AI-assisted tools. The designer also creates polished interfaces for new screens, workflows, and features across enterprise products. The role partners with user experience, product, engineering, architecture, and business teams at defined points in the service delivery process, carries design intent through implementation validation, and enables teams to apply established patterns independently. This is a fully remote position. In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $110,000.00 to $120,000.00, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. Primary Job Functions Design System Ownership and Governance * Own and evolve the enterprise Design System, including libraries, components, variables, patterns, and documentation * Prioritize the design-system roadmap using product needs, adoption data, accessibility risks, and implementation gaps * Define token architecture, naming, metadata, usage guidance, and front-end alignment * Govern contributions, releases, deprecation, migration, and adoption, audit for duplication, inconsistency, accessibility, and reuse UI Design and Prototyping * Design responsive screens, workflows, and complete interface states using approved patterns * Translate user, business, and workflow needs into clear, efficient interfaces * Create high-fidelity designs and prototypes aligned with approved Design Systems Implementation Quality * Partner across cross-functional teams to translate Design System specifications into implemented experiences * Review implementation for fidelity, responsive behavior, system use, and accessibility; document material defects in Jira and confirm resolution * Serve as the design authority during validation and user acceptance activities, using recurring gaps to improve the system Accessible and Inclusive Design * Apply current accessibility standards and inclusive design practices to components and interfaces * Document and validate contrast, hierarchy, focus, keyboard interaction, responsive behavior, and content structure AI Ready Design Standards * Structure components, tokens, metadata, and guidance for reliable use by people and approved AI tools * Direct AI-assisted work toward approved patterns and reusable components through clear guardrails * Evaluate AI-assisted outputs for quality, accessibility, brand alignment, and system compliance Service Delivery and Collaboration * Collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences * Engage at defined Service Delivery Framework checkpoints and provide specifications, assets, acceptance guidance, rationale, and tradeoffs suited to the work's complexity and risk * Manage priorities and documentation in Jira and Confluence; use experience-quality measures to guide improvements and coach partners to apply standards independently Improve Service Quality by Using AI and Digital Tools * Use approved AI and digital tools to simplify work, improve service quality, and increase efficiency, while validating outputs for accuracy, privacy, and business alignment * Identify and escalate inaccurate information and knowledge gaps, or issues related to digital tools, OSHA Requirements: This position requires the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, file documents in high or low cabinets, to use the telephone and to use the computer systems.
