## About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Developer with some proven lead experience, to join a major Government programme delivering secure, cloud-native digital services. The successful candidate will have extensive experience building scalable Java applications within AWS environments and will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing microservices-based solutions.

Essential Skills & Experience

 * Strong commercial Java development experience
 * Experience delivering solutions within AWS cloud environments
 * Proven experience building and supporting microservices architectures
 * Strong understanding of secure software development practices
 * Experience developing RESTful APIs and integration services
 * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
 * Experience working within Agile delivery teams
 * Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
 * Previous experience delivering projects within Government or Public Sector organisations

Knowledge of AWS services such as:

 * ECS/EKS
 * Lambda
 * API Gateway
 * S3
 * RDS
 * CloudWatch
 * IAM
 * Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
 * Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
 * Exposure to automated testing frameworks such as Selenium or Cucumber, working alongside QA teams.
 * Experience of GDS-aligned delivery programmes
 * AWS certifications
