## Description

Teradyne's Integrated Systems Test (IST) Hardware Engineering team is seeking a Senior Principal Hardware Engineer to provide technical leadership for the architecture and development of advanced electronic hardware and systems. This role combines deep technical expertise, broad engineering judgment, mentorship, and organizational technical leadership.

 * Define and lead hardware architectures for major products, platforms, and technology initiatives.
 * Translate complex product and system requirements into practical, scalable hardware architectures.
 * Drive critical technical decisions involving embedded computing, high-speed interfaces, power architecture, PCB technologies, system partitioning, reliability, manufacturability, and product lifecycle considerations.
 * Lead resolution of complex hardware and system-level technical problems spanning multiple engineering disciplines.
 * Establish technical direction and engineering approaches for major development programs and provide technical guidance across hardware designs and development teams.
 * Lead critical architecture and design reviews, identifying technical risks and driving mitigation early in product development.
 * Partner with engineering leaders and cross-functional teams to make system-level tradeoffs involving performance, cost, schedule, risk, and product strategy.
 * Mentor senior engineers and strengthen technical capability across the hardware organization.
 * Drive improvements in engineering standards, design methodologies, development processes, and technical quality.
 * Evaluate emerging technologies for future Teradyne products and represent hardware engineering in major cross-functional technical decisions.
