## About the Role

Required:

 * 6-10 years of professional software engineering experience
 * Demonstrated experience owning a medium-to-large project end-to-end, including planning and delivery
 * Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js, with experience in React or React Native
 * Comfort working across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers - credible at the seams even if not an expert everywhere
 * Working knowledge of serverless or event-driven architectures (AWS Lambda, SQS, or equivalent)
 * Solid grounding in relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL), caching strategies, and API design
 * Experience writing design documents and communicating technical decisions clearly

Preferred:

 * Experience in healthcare, telehealth, or other regulated/compliance-heavy domains (HIPAA awareness a plus)
 * Hands-on experience with PHP/Laravel in a production environment
 * Familiarity with payments infrastructure (Payengine, ACH, payment driver patterns)
 * Some experience mentoring engineers or improving team processes

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own meaningful projects end-to-end and help raise the bar for engineering quality on the team. This role sits at the Senior Engineering level on our career ladder, one step below Staff Engineer - it requires solid technical judgment and the ability to independently plan, execute, and deliver medium-to-large-scoped work, along with a growing track record of mentoring other engineers.

This role is remote (U.S.) and reports to the Director of Engineering. Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000 annually based on experience.

What You'll Do:

Technical Leadership

 * Own end-to-end delivery of medium-to-large-scoped projects, from design through launch and monitoring
 * Act as Tech Lead on initiatives, or on individual work-streams within a larger project led by another engineer
 * Contribute to architecture and design discussions, partnering with Tech Lead and Product on system-wide decisions
 * Identify risks within your project's scope and communicate them to your manager or tech lead before they become blockers
 * Break your own projects into well-defined milestones to maintain steady delivery

Engineering Execution

 * Produce and review high-quality, well-tested code across the TypeScript monorepo (React, React Native, Node/Lambda, tRPC, Redux-Saga)
 * Identify and address technical debt within your area of ownership before it becomes a material cost to the team
 * Stay current on relevant tools and practices, and propose adoption where it clearly benefits the team

Cross-Functional Collaboration

 * Partner with Product to refine requirements and scope for your projects
 * Write clear design documents and communicate technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences
 * Partner with QA to define test plans and reduce regression risk for your projects

Team & Culture

 * Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pairing, design review, and thorough code review
 * Give and seek out frequent, constructive feedback
 * Help uphold team norms around code quality, process, and engineering standards
