## About the Role

Required:

 * Hands-on experience with Linux administration, preferably Ubuntu
 * Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, routing, and VLANs
 * Experience with SSH and Linux command-line administration
 * Familiarity with virtualization technologies
 * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
 * Ability to work independently

Preferred but Not Required:

 * Proxmox VE experience
 * OPNsense or pfSense experience
 * Docker and container management
 * NVIDIA GPU computing, CUDA, or AI/ML infrastructure
 * Bash or Python scripting
 * Enterprise networking and NAS administration
 * Experience with infrastructure automation

Ideal Candidate

I'm open to experienced professionals, independent contractors, and college students with relevant hands-on experience.

A formal degree is not required. I'm primarily interested in practical technical ability, reliability, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn., I'm particularly interested in candidates who have experience building and managing their own home labs, servers, or networking environments.

## Description

I'm looking for a knowledgeable Linux Systems Administrator or Infrastructure Engineer to help configure, optimize, and maintain my private server and networking infrastructure.

My setup includes enterprise-grade AI computing hardware, virtualization systems, managed network switches, network-attached storage, and multiple interconnected computers.

I'm looking for someone who can work independently, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and help develop a reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure.

The initial focus will be getting my existing systems properly configured and integrated, followed by ongoing maintenance, optimization, and future expansion projects.

Current Infrastructure

 * NVIDIA H200 NVL AI server running Ubuntu Linux
 * Proxmox virtualization environment
 * OPNsense firewall and router
 * Managed 10GbE network switches and VLANs
 * 5 Gbps symmetrical fiber internet connection
 * Multiple Windows and Linux computers
 * Network-attached storage (NAS) systems
 * Dedicated gaming servers and AI computing infrastructure

Responsibilities

 * Configure, manage, and optimize Ubuntu Linux servers
 * Configure and maintain Proxmox virtual machines and containers
 * Troubleshoot networking, hardware, and software issues
 * Configure VLANs, routing, firewall rules, and network segmentation
 * Set up Docker containers and various server applications
 * Assist with NVIDIA GPU drivers, CUDA, and AI computing workloads
 * Implement monitoring, backups, and security measures
 * Configure secure remote administration and management
 * Document system configurations and changes
 * Assist with future automation, infrastructure expansion, and system integration
