## About the Role

## Description

Nicor Gas is seeking an experienced GIS Technician III to support the development, maintenance, and optimization of GIS data for utility distribution systems. This senior-level role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of GIS databases, performing advanced spatial analysis, supporting engineering and operations teams, and mentoring junior GIS technicians., · Maintain and optimize GIS databases for utility distribution systems.

· Create, update, and validate GIS maps, drawings, and as-built records.

· Perform advanced spatial analysis to support distribution planning, asset management, and outage management.

· Oversee GIS data collection, field updates, and quality assurance activities.

· Collaborate with engineering, operations, and other business units to integrate GIS data with enterprise systems.

· Generate maps, reports, and GIS deliverables for operational and regulatory needs.

· Maintain GIS documentation, metadata, and data standards.

· Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and training to junior GIS staff.

· Support GIS software upgrades, system maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

· Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with company standards.
