## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in CS/EE, or a related technical field and 12+ years of software development experience, OR Master's degree and 8+ years of related experience.
 * Prior software development and integration experience, while using one of more of the following languages: C, C++, Python.
 * Experience in L2/L3 networking, forwarding protocols (bridges/routers), platform solutions, and network topologies.
 * Experience with networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, Ethernet) and network architecture.
 * Experience with agile development methodologies and software project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).

Preferred Qualifications

 * Experience with SONiC, SAI or another Network OS.
 * Experience specifically with Software Development Kits (SDKs) and their application in networking.
 * Prior work with large-scale software systems and distributed computing.
 * Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CSM (Certified ScrumMaster), or Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE).
 * Experience leading projects that involve complex system integration and customization.
 * Experience in working with hardware teams, quality assurance, and customer support to deliver end-to-end solutions.

## Description

As a Senior Software Development Manager for the Silicon One Customer Engineering team, you will lead a dynamic group of software engineers in North America and collaborate closely with our customers in North America and Silicon One Engineering teams in the USA and Europe. You will be at the forefront of managing, supporting, and delivering sophisticated software development kits that are integral to Cisco's networking solutions to Silicon One customers.

 * Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Customer Engineering team, ensuring Silicon One Software support goals are met and align with the company's strategic direction.
 * Review the regression backlog, ensure timely execution of projects, and highlight and call out roadblocks as needed.
 * Work closely with Cisco Silicon One customers to understand their needs and deliver features and functionality that enhance their success.
 * Ensure that all resources necessary for your team's success are available and effectively used, including planning, staffing, budgeting, and managing job allocations.
 * Participate in strategic planning with senior management and other team leads to improve processes and address technical challenges.

As an adept leader with a strong background in managing software development teams and projects-ideally with experience in NOS, networking ASIC SDKs, and networking technologies-you will demonstrate your comprehensive understanding of software development, networking protocols, and hardware integration.
