## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
 * 10+ years of embedded software development experience
 * 3+ years of high-voltage Battery Management System experience
 * Strong C programming skills with working knowledge of C++
 * Experience with bare-metal embedded systems
 * Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools
 * Deep understanding of distributed high-voltage BMS architectures
 * Knowledge of functional safety principles
 * Experience in Linux development environments
 * Proficiency with Git and source control practices
 * Experience using Python
 * Track record of delivering production-quality embedded software
 * Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers, and related test equipment
 * Strong technical communication skills
 * Ability to take ownership and lead complex engineering initiatives
 * Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment

Nice to Haves

 * Automotive EV battery systems experience

## Description

Our client is seeking a Embedded Software Engineer (Battery Management System) to lead development of a high-voltage BMS platform. This individual will serve as the technical owner for BMS software, driving architecture, implementation, validation, and long-term strategy while partnering with embedded software and electrical engineering teams. This role is critical to maintaining ownership of core vehicle intellectual property and closing a key technical gap within the engineering organization., * Lead development and ownership of high-voltage BMS software

 * Define technical direction and execution plans for the BMS program
 * Design, develop, debug, test, and validate embedded software
 * Translate system requirements into software architecture and implementation
 * Develop embedded drivers from hardware schematics and component datasheets
 * Bring up, test, and troubleshoot new circuit board designs
 * Collaborate with electrical, systems, and embedded software teams
 * Leverage use of agentic AI in development of software
 * Participate in code, software design, and schematic reviews
 * Maintain high standards for software quality, performance, and maintainability
 * Support internal ownership of critical vehicle technology
 * Mentor junior engineers as the team grows
