## About the Role

* Partner on technology initiatives to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure outcomes across the organization. Requirements * At least 7 years of experience in systems engineering, senior systems administration, or closely related infrastructure roles.

 * Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory.

 * Practical scripting and automation experience using Python, Bash, or both.

 * Demonstrated background in system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure security troubleshooting.

 * Ability to function as a technical lead and trusted escalation point for complex operational issues.

 * Experience supporting cloud-based and hybrid infrastructure environments in enterprise settings.

 * Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, and Citrix technologies. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr Systems Engineer to support and enhance enterprise infrastructure in Illinois. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a technical leader who can resolve complex systems challenges, strengthen security, and improve reliability across cloud and on-premises environments. The role will focus on modernizing core platforms, advancing automation, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, well-governed infrastructure solutions., * Serve as the primary technical resource for diagnosing and resolving advanced infrastructure, platform, and systems-related issues.

 * Lead the alignment and consolidation of acquired or distributed environments to promote consistency, security, and operational stability.

 * Create and maintain automation tools and scripts using Python and/or Bash to streamline administration and reduce manual effort.

 * Manage and improve Microsoft 365, Azure, and related identity services to ensure performance, availability, and effective access management.

 * Direct infrastructure security efforts by applying hardening standards, addressing vulnerabilities, and improving overall risk posture.

 * Work closely with application and technology teams to support secure integrations and dependable system connectivity.

 * Enhance cloud design, backup and recovery capabilities, and data protection practices to strengthen resilience and integrity.

 * Contribute to audit and regulatory readiness by supporting infrastructure controls tied to compliance programs.
