Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in computer science, computer information systems, and 1 year in information technology security

Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education., * Understanding of the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making

 * Understanding of basic networking fundamentals
 * Understanding of common attack vectors, including phishing, malware, ransomware, and social engineering
 * Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of computer information technology
 * Considerable knowledge of the agency's automated information systems
 * Working knowledge of the principles of computer systems disaster recovery
 * Ability to determine causes of operating errors and solution
 * Ability to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience

## Description

* Trains users and promotes security awareness to ensure system security and to improve server and network efficiency
 * Develops plans to safeguard computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs
 * Confers with users to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security violations, and programming changes
 * Maintains and monitors anti-virus software on servers and personal computers
 * Monitors the effectiveness of controls deployed as a result of agency-wide risk assessment
