This role combines hands-on employee support with ownership of infrastructure, networks, cloud systems, business applications, cybersecurity, and technology vendors. The right person will not simply respond when something breaks; they will anticipate needs, identify weaknesses, solve root causes, and help build scalable systems that support the future of the organization. IT Infrastructure & Systems Administration * Maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize company servers, networks, workstations, wireless systems, printers, telecommunications, and peripheral equipment. * Support both cloud-based and on-premises technology environments and proactively monitor system health, performance, capacity, and reliability. * Identify infrastructure weaknesses and recommend improvements that increase reliability, security, efficiency, and scalability. * Manage hardware installations, upgrades, replacements, configurations, and technology lifecycle planning. * Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, hardware, software, system access, licenses, and IT assets. * Support disaster recovery, business continuity, system backups, restoration procedures, and recovery testing. Employee & Technical Support * Serve as a primary technical resource for employees experiencing hardware, software, network, application, or connectivity issues. * Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently while providing a high level of internal customer service. * Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including workstation setup, credentials, software access, permissions, and equipment. * Develop consistent IT procedures, user documentation, and training materials that reduce repeat issues and improve employee self-sufficiency. * Educate employees on technology best practices, cybersecurity awareness, phishing risks, and appropriate system usage. Business Systems & Application Support * Support the administration, troubleshooting, and optimization of critical business applications and enterprise systems. * Partner with Finance, Operations, Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, Warehouse Operations, and leadership to understand technology needs and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement. * Assist with ERP system administration and integrations, including Acumatica and related business applications. * Support integrations between ERP, CRM, e-commerce, reporting, shipping, customer portals, payment systems, and other third-party applications. * Work with internal teams and outside vendors to troubleshoot system, data, and integration issues and ensure information moves accurately between systems. * Participate in system implementations, upgrades, migrations, testing, deployment, user acceptance testing, and post-launch support. Network & Cybersecurity * Maintain secure and reliable network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, wireless networks, and remote-access solutions. * Monitor cybersecurity risks and help implement safeguards that protect company systems, users, customer information, and business data. * Maintain user permissions and role-based access while following the principle of least privilege. * Support multi-factor authentication, endpoint security, antivirus/EDR solutions, email security, password policies, patching, and other cybersecurity controls. * Monitor and respond to suspicious activity, security alerts, phishing attempts, vulnerabilities, and potential technology threats. * Help develop and maintain IT security policies, incident response procedures, backup standards, and recovery plans. Microsoft & Cloud Environment * Administer and support Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related applications. * Manage users, licenses, permissions, distribution groups, shared mailboxes, and system access. * Support identity and access management, including Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID environments. * Assist with cloud storage, collaboration tools, backups, security configurations, and adoption of new Microsoft capabilities. Vendor & Technology Management * Serve as a knowledgeable internal point of contact for third-party IT providers, software vendors, telecommunications providers, and technology partners. * Coordinate troubleshooting, escalations, implementations, and service issues with outside vendors while maintaining internal ownership through resolution. * Assist management with evaluating new technology, software solutions, contracts, licensing, and service providers based on cost, risk, functionality, and business value. * Maintain awareness of technology trends and recommend solutions that improve productivity, reduce risk, strengthen controls, or lower operating costs. Continuous Improvement & Business Partnership This role is expected to take a proactive approach to technology - not simply respond when something breaks. The successful candidate will: * Identify recurring problems and develop long-term solutions rather than temporary fixes. * Look for opportunities to automate manual processes and reduce duplicate or unnecessary work. * Evaluate existing technology and challenge inefficient, outdated, or unsupported practices. * Recommend technology improvements based on business needs, cost, security risk, scalability, and return on investment. * Help create technology standards, documentation, and processes that can scale as the organization grows. * Understand how technology impacts Finance, Operations, Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, Warehouse Operations, and the customer experience.
