## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or equivalent experience.
 * 8+ years of hands-on Db2 for z/OS systems programming experience.
 * Strong knowledge of SMP/E, z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF/IOF, and REXX.
 * Experience with Db2 installation, maintenance, version migrations, and subsystem tuning.
 * Strong troubleshooting and recovery experience, including IBM support cases.
 * Working knowledge of RACF, Db2, and IMS.
 * Experience with Db2 data sharing, Parallel Sysplex, and coupling facility is preferred.
 * IMS systems programming and distributed Db2 connectivity experience preferred.
 * 3+ years of technical leadership experience preferred.
 * Ability to support occasional weekend, overnight, holiday, and on-call maintenance activities.

## Description

We are seeking a Senior Mainframe Database Systems Engineer with strong experience in IBM Db2 for z/OS systems programming, installation, configuration, maintenance, performance tuning, and infrastructure management across production and non-production environments., * Lead Db2 for z/OS subsystem installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades.

 * Plan and implement software maintenance using SMP/E, including PTFs, RSU, and HIPER updates.
 * Manage Db2 migrations, subsystem configuration, DSNZPARMs, buffer pools, logging, and memory tuning.
 * Troubleshoot complex database issues, system recovery, and performance problems.
 * Manage Db2 connectivity, security, DDF/DRDA, TCP/IP, TLS, and RACF integration.
 * Support IMS DBRC, HALDB, ACB management, and disaster recovery activities.
 * Monitor database performance, capacity, availability, and system health.
 * Automate systems programming tasks using REXX, JCL, and modern tools.
 * Provide technical leadership, mentor DBAs, and coordinate with managed service teams.
 * Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and compliance evidence.
