## About the Role

In this role, you will develop, operate, and automate Schwab's enterprise API gateway portal powered by Google Apigee, helping drive secure, scalable, and reliable API-first solutions across the firm. You will collaborate with application, security, infrastructure, and platform teams to improve developer experience, accelerate cloud-native adoption, strengthen platform resiliency, and enable critical business outcomes. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, technical leadership, and a passion for leveraging automation and AI-assisted engineering practices to improve productivity, operational excellence, and the delivery of innovative business solutions., * Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

 * 4+ years of software engineering experience in UI and backend development, middleware, or API integration platforms.
 * Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve software delivery, engineering productivity, and code quality.
 * Understanding of AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AI-DLC) practices and intelligent automation concepts.
 * Experience with Angular, JavaScript, REST APIs, and developer portal technologies.
 * Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using tools such as Maven, GitHub Actions, or equivalent technologies.
 * Experience implementing observability, monitoring, alerting, and production support practices.
 * Experience applying Test-Driven Development (TDD), including unit, integration, and contract testing.
 * Demonstrated communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills within Agile environments.

Preferred Qualifications

 * Experience contributing to AI-DLC practices and leveraging AI-enabled automation across software development and platform operations.
 * Familiarity with agentic AI workflows or multi-agent orchestration patterns.
 * Experience supporting API management platforms within financial services or other highly regulated environments.
 * Experience with enterprise-scale traffic migration, certificate lifecycle management, and API onboarding automation.
 * Experience contributing to architecture standards, reference patterns, or developer enablement initiatives.
 * Google Apigee, Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), or related API/cloud platform certifications.
