## About the Role

* High school diploma or GED required
 * 3+ years of hands-on building automation controls experience
 * 3+ years of experience working with Tridium Niagara and/or Distech building controls
 * 3+ years of experience commissioning, configuring, and troubleshooting BACnet MSTP
 * Experience with BAS programming and controls database management
 * Proven field experience with building automation startup and commissioning
 * Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical and electronic circuitry
 * Understanding of AC power circuitry, including breakers and multi-phase power
 * Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control wiring diagrams
 * Ability to troubleshoot controls, network integration, and field installation issues
 * Ability to work independently in field environments and coordinate effectively with project teams
 * Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

 * 5+ years of experience in building automation controls, engineering, or a related field
 * Niagara N4 Certification
 * Strong experience with Distech, Alerton, or Tridium/Niagara controls
 * Experience with both static and dynamic system startup and commissioning
 * Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and sequences of operation
 * Experience working in facilities such as schools, government buildings, hospitals, or data centers
 * Experience with BAS retrofit and controls modernization projects
 * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical discipline

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is more than a controls installer. The right candidate should be comfortable getting into the programming, networking, commissioning, and troubleshooting side of a building automation system and taking ownership of problems through resolution.

Candidates with strong experience in Niagara, Distech, BACnet, HVAC controls, DDC controls, BAS programming, and commissioning are especially encouraged to apply.

Physical & Field Requirements

This position includes work in active commercial and construction environments. Candidates should be comfortable standing, walking, climbing, bending, and working around building equipment. The position may occasionally require lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights, using power tools, and accessing confined or mechanical spaces.

## Description

Debelak Consulting Group has been engaged by an established building technology and controls organization in the Las Vegas area to identify an experienced Building Automation Systems (BAS) Specialist.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on the programming, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing support of commercial building automation and HVAC control systems.

The ideal candidate will have direct field experience with Tridium Niagara and/or Distech controls, BACnet networks, BAS programming, and system commissioning. This position will work closely with project managers, installation teams, contractors, and facility personnel to ensure building control systems are properly programmed, commissioned, and operating efficiently., * Develop and maintain BAS control databases, graphics, and programming sequences

 * Perform system startup, commissioning, and point-to-point checkout
 * Configure and troubleshoot BACnet MSTP and BACnet/IP networks
 * Program, service, and troubleshoot building automation control systems
 * Diagnose electrical, controls, networking, and installation issues during startup and commissioning
 * Support installation personnel, contractors, and project managers at active project sites
 * Troubleshoot existing building automation systems and resolve operational issues
 * Provide service support for existing BAS installations
 * Assist with retrofit and modernization projects involving controls, sensors, and related hardware
 * Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control wiring diagrams
 * Prepare startup documentation, commissioning reports, checkout logs, and other project documentation
 * Assist with as-built drawings and Operations & Maintenance documentation
 * Support project turnover from installation/operations teams to service teams
 * Provide technical support and training to building engineers and facility personnel
 * Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service support as required
