Interview Requirements All prospective System Operators must demonstrate basic computer skills during the interview, including: * Fundamental typing * Navigating a standard Windows-based computer ## Description Kapsch TrafficCom is seeking highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team at the Region 9 Transportation Management Center (TMC) in Binghamton, NY. The System Operator I is responsible for monitoring traffic conditions, coordinating incident response, and ensuring efficient operation of the Transportation Management Center (TMC) in Region 9. This role requires detailed familiarity with TMC daily obligations, tools, and systems. Operators must understand communications protocols, be knowledgeable about the locations and purpose of all Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) elements and be capable of independently following procedures and direction. An Operator I - Trainee will begin in a training capacity and is eligible for promotion to System Operator I upon successful completion of a core competency evaluation developed by NYSDOT Region 9 management. This evaluation ensures the trainee demonstrates proficiency in TMC operations, systems, and protocols. Once confirmed as knowledgeable and competent, the trainee will transition to the System Operator I role.
