## About the Role

* Minimum 5 years of professional, hands-on application development experience.
 * Strong proficiency in Java, including modern Java versions and features.
 * Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
 * Experience developing and maintaining Spring Batch applications.
 * Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, subqueries, and performance tuning.
 * Experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting SQL stored procedures.
 * Experience designing and developing REST APIs and backend services.
 * Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and application architecture.
 * Experience with Git/GitHub and source control practices.
 * Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or similar tools.
 * Experience with unit testing, debugging, code reviews, and application troubleshooting.
 * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
 * Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
 * Healthcare payer or health insurance industry experience is required.
 * Must be local to the Detroit area and able to work onsite once per week.

## Description

The ideal candidate will have healthcare payer experience and a strong technical background in backend development, batch processing, database programming, and API development. This role is focused on hands-on application development rather than team leadership., * Develop, maintain, enhance, and deploy enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.

 * Develop and support Spring Batch applications and batch-processing solutions.
 * Write, maintain, and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
 * Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs and backend services.
 * Participate in application design and technical solution development.
 * Create and execute unit tests, troubleshoot defects, and improve code quality.
 * Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards.
 * Use AI-assisted coding tools to support code generation, refactoring, testing, debugging, and documentation.
 * Maintain technical documentation based on functional requirements.
 * Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
 * Collaborate with team members in an Agile/Scrum environment.
