## About the Role

* Proven experience in cybersecurity engineering with a strong background in computer networking, system administration (Linux/Unix/Windows), and IT infrastructure management.
 * Deep understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP; routing protocols such as EIGRP; and network support/supporting network infrastructure components like Cisco routers/switches.
 * Hands-on experience with firewall management (Cisco ASA), VPN setup (SSL VPNs), IDS/IPS deployment, SIEM implementation (Splunk or similar), and vulnerability management tools.
 * Knowledge of information security compliance frameworks including ISO 27001/27002 standards; risk management frameworks like RMF; and cybersecurity best practices aligned with NIST standards.
 * Familiarity with cloud security engineering on platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform; experience with virtualization technologies like VMware vSphere; and open-source tools such as Nmap or openSUSE/Linux distributions.
 * Strong analytical skills for threat detection & response; ability to perform vulnerability research; expertise in incident management; and proficiency in scripting for automation purposes.
 * Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CEH or Cisco ISE certifications are highly desirable.

## Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to lead our organization's efforts in safeguarding critical IT infrastructure and data. In this dynamic role, you will design, implement, and manage advanced security solutions to protect our network, systems, and cloud environments.  * Lead security system administration for firewalls (Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection Systems), SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools like Splunk or SolarWinds, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
 * Conduct vulnerability assessments, security risk analysis, and security assessment investigations to identify vulnerabilities within IT infrastructure, including LAN/WAN networks, cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud), and on-premises systems.
 * Manage network security configurations involving routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), VPNs (IPsec), load balancing, DNS, DHCP, SAN storage solutions, and network architecture design.
 * Oversee incident response activities by analyzing security events, performing threat detection & response, and coordinating incident recovery efforts following established protocols.
 * Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system hardening, system security plans, disaster recovery planning, and implementing security controls in accordance with compliance standards such as PCI DSS and FedRAMP.
 * Stay current with cybersecurity tools like Burp Suite, Nmap, Fiddler, SolarWinds, PRTG; utilize scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation; and support secure cloud architecture using Terraform or Ansible.
