## About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and scale one of our Lending teams at Cross River, building the technology that helps fintech partners originate, fund, service, and sell consumer and commercial loans across a compliant, end-to-end lifecycle. You'll be a technical leader who balances hands-on engineering expertise with people management, driving reliable platforms and scalable solutions across complex domains. The ideal candidate is a strong engineer and people leader who is passionate about building high-performing teams that deliver mission-critical lending infrastructure at scale., * 5+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3+ years in engineering management or technical leadership roles

 * Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, C#, or similar), with experience in SQL/NoSQL databases and caching
 * Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and event-driven systems
 * Proven track record of building, leading, and scaling high-performing engineering teams
 * Experience delivering complex, distributed systems in production environments
 * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

Preferred:

 * Experience in financial services, fintech, payments, or other regulated industries, ideally with Banking-as-a-Service or financial technology platforms
 * Experience with high-availability, high-throughput transaction processing systems

## Description

* Lead, mentor, and grow an engineering team while supporting recruiting, hiring, and career development
 * Partner with Product Management and cross-functional stakeholders to set priorities and deliver high-impact features
 * Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
 * Own delivery from design to deployment and champion strong engineering practices, including testing, CI/CD, and code review
 * Promote operational excellence and continuous improvement through monitoring, incident response, post-mortems, and data-driven decisions, Designs, implements, and refines threat detection and response use cases aligned with MITRE ATT&CK and the Cyber Kill Chain. Collaborates with threat intelligence, incident response, forensics, and security operations teams; analyzes attack patterns; participates in red-team and penetration-testing exercises; develops security metrics and management reports; and leads junior analysts as needed. The role requires expertise in security monitoring, incident response, forensics, network and host controls, cloud security, and multiple forensic and SIEM tools.
