Build, automate, operate, and harden data pipelines that move test data from local test PCs to network storage to the cloud (AWS S3), with reliability and observability as first-class goals. Maintain and extend data-homogenization code that normalizes test data from multiple tester types and formats into a common schema for shared tooling. Improve detection, cleaning, tagging, and labeling of bad or incomplete data; incorporate metadata into the database for traceability across test types. Build and operate summary-metric scripts, Grafana dashboards, and monitoring/alerting for production and test data systems. Deploy and operate AI and machine-learning models on top of the databases to create new features for the team and customers, such as predictive insights, automated data-quality checks, and natural-language querying and visualization. Build and extend implementation-level tools and small applications that make test data easier for engineers to reach and use. Specify software, networking, and security requirements for new test equipment, and partner with vendors and internal security teams to bring new systems online reliably and compliantly. Diagnose and resolve performance, reliability, and availability issues across hardware, software, and operating environments, leaving systems better than you found them. A day in the life You might start the morning confirming overnight test data landed cleanly in S3 and triaging a pipeline alert, then pair with a cell test engineer to fold a new tester's output into the common schema. In the afternoon you could automate a manual data-handling step, tune a Grafana dashboard and its alerts, prototype a model that flags suspect data before it reaches the database, and scope the network and security requirements for a tester arriving next month. The mix shifts with the team's priorities, and you decide where your time creates the most leverage. About the team We are the battery team behind Amazon Leo's power systems. We design, build, and test the cells and packs that keep satellites running, and we rely on a fast-growing body of test data to understand how they perform. This role owns the computing, networking, and data backbone the whole team depends on, and works closely with cell test, build, and design engineers to keep the systems reliable and remove the barriers between people and answers.
