## About the Role

* M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, Optics, or a related STEM field
\n

 * 3-10 years of experience designing and developing photonic integrated circuits
\n

 * Experience owning PIC designs through layout, tapeout, fabrication, and characterization
\n

 * Hands-on experience with photonic device testing, measurement, and data analysis
\n

 * Experience with photonic simulation tools such as Lumerical, FDTD, MODE, CHARGE, Interconnect, or similar platforms
\n

 * Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced engineering environment
\n, * Experience designing active and/or passive silicon photonic devices
\n

 * Experience with commercial photonics foundries, PDKs, design rule checks, and tapeout workflows
\n

 * Proficiency with PIC layout tools such as KLayout, GDSFactory, Cadence Virtuoso, or similar platforms
\n

 * Experience automating measurements, data acquisition, or testing workflows using Python or MATLAB
\n

 * Experience with RF characterization of high-speed photonic devices
\n

 * Background in photonic packaging, fiber attach, flip-chip integration, or PIC-to-electronics integration
\n

 * Experience developing photonic technologies for communications, sensing, defense, or quantum applications
\n

## Description

They are looking for a Senior/Staff Integrated Photonics Engineer with expertise in the design, tapeout, and characterization of photonic integrated circuits and a proven ability to take devices from concept through fabrication and testing. As a key member of the engineering team, you will design next-generation PICs, collaborate closely with foundry partners, perform hands-on device characterization, and help drive the development of innovative photonic products from prototype to deployment.
