Experience & Education:The well-qualified Design Engineer will have:

 * A Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, or an Electrical Emphasis of a more General Engineering degree
 * A technical degree or certificate with a minimum of three years' relevant experience
 * 3+ years of experience in switchgear or power distribution equipment design.
 * Experience with AutoCAD, E-Plan, and Microsoft software
 * Familiarity with low and medium voltage systems (up to 38kV).
 * Strong understanding of electrical protection and control systems.
 * Knowledge of relevant electrical standards (IEC, IEEE, UL, NEMA, etc.).
 * Hands-on experience in manufacturing or field service of switchgear.

## Description

* Ensure that the QMS confirms to ISO 9001:2015
 * Ensure processes are delivering intended outcomes
 * Report to Top Management on the performance of the QMS; on opportunities for improvement; on change requirements; on innovations
 * Ensure the promotion of customer focus
 * Ensure the integrity of the QMS is maintained

Roles & Responsibilities

 * Responsible for the design, development, and documentation of low to medium voltage switchgear and power distribution systems
 * Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, customer requirements, and MCM quality standards., * Design and develop electrical switchgear systems including - general requirements, elevation and plan views, one-line diagrams, schematics, and control circuits.
 * Select and specify electrical components such as breakers, relays, CTs, PTs, bus bars, and protective devices.
 * Create and revise engineering drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, E-Plan).
 * Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI, UL, IEEE).
 * Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical designers, project managers, and manufacturing teams.
 * Review and interpret customer specifications and provide technical input during submittal, production, and post-shipment phases.
 * Maintain project documentation and provide timely updates to project stakeholders.

Work Environment:

 * Self-directed, able to work autonomously or with limited direct supervision, receives general instructions on new assignments.
 * Typical work week - 40 hrs.
 * This is an on-site position unless approval is given by management based on a major life change
 * Willingness to work 10% overtime as needed.
 * Travel is not required for this position.
