Preferred Background * In school for Information Technology degree * An understanding of basic networking concepts including firewall policies, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, VLANs, etc. * Awareness of basic cybersecurity principles including phishing identification, malware prevention, least-privilege access, and safe computing practices. ## Description Under the supervision of the IT Manager, the IT Technician is responsible for the support of end users with user accounts, computer and network issues, deployment of computer hardware, and maintenance of software and hardware systems. This is an entry-level position designed for candidates who may have IT certifications, are currently pursuing an education in Information Technology, or possess strong technical aptitude and a passion for technology. The goal of this role is to provide an opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills, and grow professionally., * Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computer systems. * Maintain Microsoft Active Directory for user security, groups, permissions, and resource access. * Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network and application access problems. * Provide daily support to local and remote end users. Solve problems that arise with hardware or software programs operating through the network. * Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain network printing, directory structures, including user network rights, security, and telecom configurations. * Complete special projects assigned by the It Manager. * This position involves periods of prolonged sitting or standing and the use of computer equipment. The successful applicant will also be required to bend, kneel, stop and stand for extended periods of time to perform job duties and will frequently be required to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally more as a team lift.
