## About the Role

* Strong commercial experience in full stack software development, working confidently across frontend, backend and infrastructure
 * Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring developers or owning engineering delivery
 * Working knowledge of a modern frontend framework such as React, Vue, Svelte or similar
 * Backend development experience with technologies such as TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Go, C# or similar
 * Experience with relational databases, REST and/or GraphQL APIs, and cloud infrastructure
 * Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerisation and infrastructure-as-code concepts
 * Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, performance, security and maintainability
 * Ability to evaluate technical approaches, communicate trade-offs and make sound architectural decisions

## Description

* Provide hands-on technical leadership, set technical direction and promote engineering best practices
 * Lead, mentor and support engineers, encouraging technical growth, collaboration and continuous improvement
 * Foster an AI-first engineering mindset and champion AI-assisted software development
 * Take ownership of technical delivery, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable and high quality
 * Guide architectural and design decisions across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure and data
 * Help engineers break down complex challenges, assess alternatives and make pragmatic decisions
 * Lead technical discussions, code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions
 * Work with product and engineering stakeholders to turn business requirements into effective technical solutions
 * Balance team leadership with hands-on development and active involvement in software delivery
 * Establish and improve AI-first workflows, evaluate emerging tools and coach engineers in their effective and responsible use
 * Set quality controls for AI-generated code and explore automation of repetitive engineering work
 * Design, develop and maintain features end-to-end, from user interfaces and APIs through databases, infrastructure and deployment
 * Contribute to system architecture, technical design and engineering standards
 * Build robust, maintainable and well-tested production code and resolve complex technical challenges across the application stack
 * Support continuous integration, automated testing and deployment processes
 * Address performance, security, scalability and observability throughout the development lifecycle
