Most positions require ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential. ## Description * The Sr Data Engineer will be primary responsible for the environment's database layer support the Army G8 PA&E. * They will coordinates administrative functions to ensure data is reliably available and access times are minimized allowing quickest access possible to data. * They will be responsible for all interfaces into and out of the data layer and for API hub allowing data exchanges with internal and external sources or systems. * They will ensure applications can access data with minimum latency and Facilitate change control, problem management, and communication among data architects, programmers, analysts, and engineers. * They will establish and enforce processes to ensure a consistent, well managed, and well-integrated data infrastructure. * They will be responsible for Analyzing and identifying data and metadata requirements. * They will need to have the ability to define user requirements and database design specifications. * They will provide designs, implementations, and support data warehousing requirements. * They will also implement business rules via stored procedures, middleware, or other technologies. * In addition, they will provide product support and maintenance and perform data warehouse design and construction. They will prepares/implement data verification and testing methods for the data warehouse. * Must have the ability to communicate accurate information, Familary with database systems within ARC/cPROBE, including PaaS or SaaS: a. Oracle b. SQL Server c. PostgreSQL d. RedShift e.
