You will lead Air's design direction, defining the visual language, interaction patterns, foundations, and guidance that help business products feel coherent, intentional, and well crafted. As Lead Designer you will own design language, interaction patterns, design-side governance, and experience quality. You will partner closely with our Design Engineers who own technical architecture, system implementation, and design-to-development infrastructure. What you'll do Evolve the Air design language Define and evolve design system's visual and interaction language across typography, color, spacing, iconography, motion, hierarchy, density, data visualization, and interaction. Establish a recognizable design point of view that raises the quality of business' digital products. Create coherence across platforms and brands. Define foundations and patterns that connect web, mobile, and embedded experiences while respecting platform-specific needs. Shape how the design system supports business portfolio of brands through scalable tokens, themes, assets, and visual foundations without creating fragmented systems. Partner with Design Engineering to keep design intent aligned across Figma and production. Define reusable interaction patterns Move Air beyond components by defining reusable patterns for navigation, configuration workflows, notifications, system feedback, responsive behavior, data-rich experiences, embedded interfaces, and emerging interactions. Work with product designers to identify recurring UX problems and turn strong solutions into reusable patterns. Raise the design craft bar Establish what great looks like through the quality of the work you create and the standards you champion. Evaluate Air in real product experiences and create examples, prototypes, principles, and guidance that improve visual design, usability, accessibility, interaction quality, and consistency. Lead through influence Partner with designers, engineers, researchers, product managers, and brand teams to evolve Air based on real product needs. Define contribution and governance models that allow teams to participate in Air's evolution while protecting its quality and coherence. Shape emerging experience patterns Explore how AI and emerging technologies are changing product interfaces. Help define reusable principles and patterns for conversational, generative, agentic, and adaptive experiences, and use AI-assisted workflows where they improve exploration, prototyping, and documentation. What success looks like Air promotes a clear and coherent design direction across the business' products and brands. New programs adopt Airs reusable patterns and guidance to help drive consistency for internal teams and external customers. Existing programs embrace Airs direction when addressing known issues or establishing new functionality Designers iterate and execute more rapidly from exploration through delivery Engineering teams build more rapidly and accurately with fewer cycles of design review Visual craft, usability, accessibility, and interaction quality improve over time.
