## About the Role

* Strong C#/.NET development experience, especially backend software engineering; This has consistently been a core requirement
 * CAD/MCAD software experience, ideally developing software tools, applications, add-ins, or integrations within a CAD environment
 * SOLIDWORKS experience is ideal, but comparable CAD platforms such as Siemens NX, AutoCAD, Revit, CATIA, Creo, etc., have been considered
 * API/SDK development, especially CAD APIs, plugins, add-ins, integrations, and engineering workflow automation
 * Experience building production software, not just using CAD as an end user. The client wants someone who has built applications/tools for the MCAD industry
 * REST/JSON APIs and secure credential handling
 * Git, build/release processes, testing, and debugging
 * Windows application installation, packaging, versioning, and updates
 * API/SDK troubleshooting and reproducible defect reporting
 * Ability to create technical documentation, sample code, and knowledge-transfer materials
 * VBA/VSTA macros experience
 * Python experience
 * 3D experience
 * AI/LLM or external-service integration experience

## Description

Kforce has a client in Waltham, MA that is seeking a Software Engineer to work onsite 5 days/week. The Software Engineer will develop and deliver software solutions within a CAD/MCAD environment. This is a backend-heavy development role focused on building applications, add-ins, APIs, integrations, and automation tools. This role will develop working, installable reference solutions; support integration, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting; identify API/SDK/tooling gaps, and provide documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
