Workday Pay Transparency Statement ## Description We are seeking a P4 Senior Development Engineer to help design, build, optimize, and operate core platform services that power Workday at scale. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong distributed systems experience, a passion for high-performance backend engineering, and the ability to reason deeply about reliability, scalability, latency, and production behavior. The engineer will contribute as a senior individual contributor, owning the design and implementation of critical services while also helping improve the operational health of the systems they build. In addition to core software engineering responsibilities, this role requires someone who is comfortable taking on Site Reliability Engineering responsibilities when business needs demand it. The ideal candidate understands that building reliable distributed systems includes participating in operational readiness, incident response, observability, performance tuning, capacity planning, and production support. What you will do * CI/CD, Automation, and Developer Enablement: Improve CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and release automation to enable fast, safe, and repeatable delivery. Automate repetitive operational tasks and support development teams by troubleshooting builds, deployments, runtime issues, and configuration problems. * Platform Reliability and Operations: Help design, build, and operate highly available platform capabilities across AWS, GCP, and Workday data centers.
