Skills and Competencies * Strong understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, assessment alignment, and learner engagement strategies. * Strong project management and organizational skills; experience using project management tools such as Smartsheet preferred. * Knowledge of current and emerging educational technologies, including Generative AI applications in higher education. * Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-production environment with rapidly evolving priorities, technologies, and timelines. * Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent course development projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines. * Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to embrace continuous change, process improvement, and emerging instructional technologies. * Ability to design learning experiences and assessments that support authentic skill development in AI-enabled environments. * Proficiency with LMS platforms (Canvas preferred) and digital authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline/RISE, Captivate, Camtasia, or similar platforms. * Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. * Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across academic and operational teams. * Comfortable working in hybrid and remote environments. ## Description The Instructional Development Manager (IDM) is part of the Curricular Innovation and Production team and reports directly to the Associate Director of Curricular Development. The IDM leads the design, development, and continuous improvement of engaging, high-quality course content across online, hybrid, and on-ground modalities. This role combines instructional design expertise, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to support timely course launches and curriculum innovation initiatives. The IDM plays an important role in helping the institution thoughtfully integrate emerging educational technologies-including Generative AI-into curriculum design and instructional practices. This includes supporting the development of learning experiences and assessments that reflect the evolving role of AI in education and the workforce, while promoting academic integrity, critical thinking, and student engagement. The IDM title reflects the multifaceted nature of the position, which spans instructional design, curriculum development, project oversight, faculty collaboration, educational technology integration, and publisher coordination.
