## About the Role

* Five to ten years of backend software engineering experience, including work at a startup or high-growth company.
 * Industry experience building scalable backend systems, distributed systems, large-scale data processing, information retrieval, and asynchronous workflows.
 * At least 12 months of hands-on industry experience designing agentic systems or working with LLMs and generative AI.
 * Professional experience with TypeScript and AWS; experience with S3, Lambda, RDS, SQS, ECS, FastAPI, Docker, and CI/CD is relevant.
 * Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and system design, applied in professional backend engineering work.
 * Experience acting as a technical lead, setting direction and code standards while contributing code.
 * A formal degree and fluency in English.

## Description

Join a small, high-caliber team building AI-powered video technology. As a founding backend engineer, you will lead the design of core systems and set a high bar for technical quality as the product and engineering team grow., * Design and develop scalable backend systems that power AI video creation.

 * Build infrastructure for agentic workflows, video generation pipelines, reinforcement learning loops, and real-time data processing.
 * Own distributed systems architecture and improve reliability through automated testing, performance benchmarking, and end-to-end observability.
 * Partner with researchers, engineers, and designers to develop product features and APIs.
 * Write production-quality code, set technical direction and engineering guidelines, and raise team standards.
 * Document technical decisions and define agent skills for a fast-moving engineering team.
