## About the Role

This is a fully remote contract opportunity for a mid-to-senior-level professional with proven enterprise mainframe development experience., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

 * 5+ years of enterprise mainframe development experience.
 * Strong experience with:
 * COBOL
 * Natural
 * JCL
 * ADABAS
 * DB2
 * Familiarity with Oracle concepts and SQL tools.
 * Experience creating technical documentation and design specifications.
 * Strong troubleshooting, testing, and problem-solving skills.
 * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 * Preferred Qualifications
 * Experience supporting Natural/ADABAS environments.
 * Experience with Endevor, ChangeMan, ISPW, or similar change management tools.
 * Experience with Control-M, CA 7, TWS, or other scheduling platforms.
 * Integration experience using MQ, service layers, or file-based interfaces.
 * Previous production support and on-call experience.
 * Public sector, government, or regulated industry experience.

## Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to design, develop, test, and support enhancements to enterprise mainframe applications. This hands-on role focuses on COBOL, Natural, JCL, ADABAS, and DB2 and requires a strong developer who can translate business requirements into technical solutions, support production systems, and contribute within an Agile environment., * Design and develop enhancements to existing mainframe applications.

 * Create and maintain programs using COBOL and Natural.
 * Develop and troubleshoot JCL for batch processing and job streams.
 * Work with ADABAS and DB2 databases to support application functionality.
 * Create technical documentation, program specifications, and process flows.
 * Perform unit, system, and acceptance testing.
 * Participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities.
 * Support production systems and participate in an on-call rotation.
 * Conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions.
