## About the Role

We want someone who has built and operated 0->1 systems to a high standard of reliability and correctness, and who has shipped AI features in regulated industries.You would be the technical voice in the room for a product we are building and help us define the architecture, the stack, and work with product and design on what to build and ship.
You will be shipping constantly.**Responsibilities*** Own the data model for money movement and make it hold up under audit* Build the agent layer that does real work in the product* Build the ingestion pipeline that turns third-party documents and exports into structured records our users can trust* Own the migration path for customers coming off incumbent systems* Decide what our tests actually guarantee, and close the gap between green and correct* \\* Set the release process: what can ship, what needs a rollback plan, what needs a gate* \\* Help recruit and ramp the engineers who come after you**What We're Looking For**3+ years shipping B2B or B2C products, with at least 3 of those in AI or fintech, insurtech, or health tech.
Adjacent experience in accounting, payroll, or HR software accepted.**Requirements*** You have 3+ years building production systems at a high-growth startup or technically demanding environment in either fintech, insurtech, healthtech, payments, payroll, accounting, banking, or marketplaces with payouts or where the costs for failure is high* You've owned services end to end, including the schema design, the API contract, the deployment, the on-call, and the deprecation* You're comfortable working across the stack.
You can ship a React workflow, a Node service, and a Python data pipeline in the same week without asking permission* You're AI-Native and use modern AI tooling in your workflows* You think clearly about tradeoffs and have good product sense.
You can tell the difference between a problem worth automating and one worth not solving yet* Strong SQL and relational modeling, and comfort running migrations against live data.* You are comfortable being the only engineer.
