As we continue to scale our engineering organization, we are looking for a Senior Software Architect to serve as the technical backbone of our backend platform. This is a senior individual contributor role that sits at the intersection of engineering leadership and technical craft. You will not be managing a team directly, but you will have significant influence over how all of our backend teams build, design, and evolve their systems. In this role, you will own the architectural direction for our backend platform including defining patterns, setting standards, and guiding teams through design decisions that affect the reliability, scalability, and maintainability of our products. You will be a trusted partner to engineering leads and team managers across the company, helping them make the right technical choices without becoming a bottleneck utilizing our decentralized RFC and engineering guild model. Your work will range from authoring and reviewing technical design documents, to identifying systemic risk across services, to helping teams navigate complex trade-offs at critical moments in delivery. ## Related Videos - [Next Level Enterprise Architecture: Modular, Flexible, Scalable, Multichannel and AI-Ready?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1017-next-level-enterprise-architecture-modular-flexible-scalable-multichannel-and-ai-ready) - [Beyond Kafka & RabbitMQ: Why NATS is the Future of Microservices Messaging](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1646-beyond-kafka-rabbitmq-why-nats-is-the-future-of-microservices-messaging) - [Developing the Backend with Stefan Lingler, CTO at Shpock](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100360-developing-the-backend-with-stefan-lingler-cto-at-shpock) - [Docker Compose: Rediscovered](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1978-docker-compose-rediscovered) - [Goodbye Microservices, Hello Self-Contained Systems](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100009-goodbye-microservices-hello-self-contained-systems) - [Developing ASP.NET Core Microservices with Dapr: A practical guide](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1528-developing-asp-net-core-microservices-with-dapr-a-practical-guide) ## Related Articles - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Find a Developer Job: 12 Best Job Sites For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/165-find-a-developer-job-12-best-job-sites-for-developers) - [The 12 Best Jobs for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/401-the-12-best-jobs-for-software-engineers) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers)
