The "IT Support Engineer - Desktop & Infrastructure" role is a hybrid role which primarily serves as a member of the local business unit IT support team but also is a member of the global infrastructure systems team. The role will be responsible for day-to-day technical support as needed by the local business unit, and working tickets escalated by level 1 support members. As a secondary responsibility, the employee will assist the systems team in maintenance of the server infrastructure of Hunting Energy Services globally. This may include activities associated with documentation, implementation, operations and end user support for the servers, virtual infrastructure, storage, monitoring, backups, disaster recovery replication and cloud infrastructure/authentication as needed by the team. We are an enterprise that is heavily utilizing Microsoft operating systems and VMware for virtualization. For server hardware, we standardize on Cisco UCS and for Storage, HPE Nimble/Pure. Hands-on cross-training by our systems engineers will increase the knowledge and experience of the employee as they grow familiar with our environment and standards. Many tasks that will be performed will be in supporting the Sr. Systems Engineers with projects they are leading. The candidate will need to learn and follow current procedures, adhering to change management controls and escalating technical issues for input and guidance as required.
